ENC: „Fixtures of the 2010 European Trophy are known“

Fixtures of the European Trophy 2010 edition, women 15 competition, have been made official on Tuesday November 17, 2009. The tournament will gather eight teams together and will take place in France in the Alsace Lorraine region, from 7 until 16 of May 2010.

„The European Trophy is an important tournament for the development of women 15’s rugby within Europe. The European Championship takes place each four years (Note: next edition in 2012) but the FIRA-AER must propose games to emerging unions trough a serious competition and with the help of the big nations.“ Here are the words of Jean-Claude Baqué, Chairman of the FIRA-AER, and which sum up the philosophy of the European Trophy.

After Sweden in 2009, it is France, and more precisely the Regional Committee of Alsace Lorraine who will host the event from 7 until 16 of May, 2010.

ENC 7s 2009 – Deutschland unter den Top10

In diesem Jahr finden in Hannover wieder die „Hannover 7s“ statt, welche ja im letzten Jahr _das_ Top-Ereignis im deutschen Rugby darstellten.
Erfreulicherweise gelang es den Organisatoren, auch Europas Top-Frauenteams an die Leine zu locken.
Yours faithfully wird neben dem deutschen Team natürlich den Azzurri zujubeln, aber mein heimlicher Favorit und krasser Aussenseiter ist das moldavische Team.
Als, 11. und 12. Juli schon mal im Kalender anstreichen!

Die A- und B-Pools findet man bei der FIRA.

Europameisterschaft der Frauen 2008

Die Europameisterschaft der Frauen wird mit 16 Nationen in zwei Divisionen vom 17. bis zum 25. Mai 2008 in Amsterdam (Niederlande) ausgetragen. Deutschland spielt in der Division 2 mit Schweden, Belgien, Russland, Rumänien, Finnland, Luxemburg und Norwegen und ist auf Rang vier gesetzt. Die Division 1 bilden England, Frankreich, Wales, Irland, Schottland, Italien, Spanien und die Niederlande.

Siebenerrugby-Europameisterschaft der Frauen 2008

Die Siebenerrugby-EM 2008 ist auch Qualifikation für die WM 2009 in Hongkong. Gespielt wird in zwei Phasen. Das erste Turnier für die deutsche Mannschaft findet am 30. Mai und 1. Juni 2008 in Brüssel statt. Die Gegner sind die Schweiz, Moldawien, Belgien, Dänemark, Norwegen, Ungarn, Tschechien, Luxemburg, Kroatien, Georgien und die Slowakei. Die ersten Drei dieses Turniers erreichen das Finalturnier der Top-12 am 14. und 15. Juni 2008 in Limoges (Frankreich). Von diesen 12 Mannschaften qualifizieren sich die besten Fünf für die WM 2009.
